Today is a happy BIRTHday! The best one of all. Thank you God for sending your Son here to earth for us.
How does a book go from a computer clicked purchase to your hand?
Well, that depends how you order your book. When you order through the name brand stores those stores take a (large) fraction of the book price. Then the store contacts the printer and says "Make a book for Joseph, and send it to his address at XYZ." After that, the printer has to print it, and then it gets sent. This is why books ordered through the big stores take longer to get to you.
When you order through PayPal or the author or illustrator of the book the order enters our "basement office," we package it up immediately (after signing it) and send it out usually on the same day (depending on nap time schedule.) I say this not to belittle the book, but to enlighten you on the fact that we are a family run operation. Simply some Jesus lovers who wrote a book to help other families like ours.
In summary, order the book in whichever way you feel comfortable. But please know that a fraction of every book goes to Christian Missions. We are all about increasing Gods kingdom!
Wondering how to use the book in your own home? Here is a sweet movie to show you how to incorporate this book into your own Christmas tradition.
Wow, we at The Traveling Wise Men are delighted that Mom Conformist has checked out the book and done a wonderful write up. They are even offering a copy as a giveaway.

Several people have asked me what to do about Santa. That is totally a family decision. We are still trying to figure it out ourselves. My husband and I spoke a lot about this very topic. We did not want our children to "be nice" because elves or Santa were watching. We wanted them to be nice because that is what the Lord calls us to do. "Be kind to everyone." 2 Tim 2:24 We also did not want to feed them a lie... to teach them to believe in something and then someday find out that that very something wasn't all the way true. We thought about the impact that might have on our eternal perspective, their understanding of God. After all, God, although we cant always see Him, he is still there. We did not want to cause any confusion. So we stuck to the basics, the facts.
Thus far, we have explained that there was a nice man named Saint Nick and people called him Santa Clause. He brought gifts to kids a long time ago. Some people still think he gives gifts but in our family on Christmas we give gifts to celebrate Jesus' birthday.
Fast forward to this week when I took my son to the mall:
Me- "Look O, there is that man, remember, Santa Clause?" (I am thinking this is going to be a great reflective moment in his life...)
O- "Who is that?"
Me - "That is a nice man named Santa Clause."
O- "No Mommy, that is a fire fighter."
Me - "O, he is dressed in red, but he is Santa."
O-"He is weird."
As a wife, mom, and teacher, I wanted a way to make the story of Christ's birth the daily focus of the Christmas season. I began writing The Traveling Wise Men in 2012 while trying to establish my own Christmas traditions. Soon, The Traveling Wise Men became a whole family project. So much love and prayer went into it. I hope that it might be a tool for children to learn about the awe-inspiring true story of the miracle of Jesus Christ.
"To Him be the glory for ever and ever. Amen." Phil. 4:20
